Smilin’ Buddha Tattoos is the oldest tattoo shop in Calgary. Originally owned by Paul Jeffries, one of the pioneers of Japanese American traditional tattoo style, the shop has been featured in many publications. Many may remember the iconic blue house in Marda Loop that used to be the shop’s home, although these days we can be found on the popular 17th Avenue in the Beltline.

Today, Smilin’ Buddha is home to several artists showcasing a variety of styles and talents. From American traditional to geometric and fineline designs, artist shines in their own lanes, but they are always eager to take on challenges outside of their comfort zone!
